Books Hogs is always much fun for Leverett students and we look forward to the month of February to kick off this reading program. To qualify to be a Book Hogs member, students must read a total of 360 minutes during the month of February, that’s an average of 90 minutes per week. Each student will receive a Book Hogs Playbook that includes a calendar to log the minutes they read on a daily basis. The reading should be independent reading outside of the classroom so a parent or guardian will need to initial each day’s posting.
By Monday, March 2, all students should total their minutes read, mark that amount on their Playbook Calendars and turn their Playbooks back into their classroom teachers.
The librarian will have a special prize for all students who reach their reading goal!
In addition to the special prize, our school will also send the class with the highest percentage of students reaching the goal on a field trip to Bud Walton Arena!!! This is s team effort to win this field trip.
And, our school will have one grand prize winner. They will have the honor of sharing lunch with a Razorback athlete, as well as receive 3 tickets to attend a Razorback Baseball game where they will be introduced from the pitcher’s mound and have their picture taken with Coach Van Horn!!
